Whites metal detectors
Whites Electronics have been manufacturing metal detectors since the late
1950s.
Operating a metal detector is simple - you turn it on, and move slowly
over the area you wish to search, sweeping the search head back and forth
over the ground in front of you. When you pass the search head over metal, an
audible signal occurs. More advanced metal detectors provide displays that
indicate the type of metal and how deep its buried.

Metal objects must be within a foot or so of the surface for the metal
detector to find them. The exact depth varies based on a number of factors,
including the type of metal, the size of the object, and the type of metal
detector.
With a Whites metal detector you can go:
- Prospecting - searching for valuable metals, like gold nuggets
- Treasure hunting - trying to find hidden caches of gold, silver
and coins.
- Relic hunting - searching for metal items of historical
value,
- Coin shooting - looking for coins, including after a major event,
such as a ball game or concert.
